The Magnetic Resonance platform (RM) is equipped with a PRISMA 3 Tesla magnet for clinical research in humans and a 7 Tesla Bruker magnet for experimental research in small animals.
The main objectives of this platform are the following:
- To provide services related to medical imaging techniques to researchers from IDIBAPS, other institutions and health-related industries.
- To perform first-level basic and clinical research on medical imaging using structural and functional magnetic resonance imaging, magnetic resonance spectroscopy, molecular imaging, other types of medical imaging and image processing.
- User training and maintenance of the state of the art in magnetic resonance techniques in order to enable researchers to conduct experimental and clinical studies, so that they can explore the advantages of translational research.
- To complement this infrastructure, the platform includes an image analysis laboratory, where users can utilise the workstations available which are equipped with the most common programs in the field of magnetic resonance imaging.
